I did some commercial reading today while watching one of my favorite Hallmark Christmas movies Silver Bells. Granted I had the movie recorded and could have fast forwarded through every commercial, but I decided to read instead. Silver Bells is one of Hallmark's more emotional movies about a 17 year old boy, Danny who runs away in New York City. The movie takes place over the span of a year. Danny is homeless and living in New York while his father works on their Christmas tree farm and looks tirelessly for his son. A series of events will lead them to finding the silver bells. I think the reason I love this movie so much is that it isn't all about the love story. It is about a father looking for his lost son. It is about a boy who wants his fathers approval, but doesn't know how to obtain it. I think most of all the movie proves how far you will go to find and do what you love. I highly recommend this movie to be on your read list for next year.

Love the cover on Fairest of them All, so pretty! I just checked out Pivot Point from the library - looks awesome.
ReplyDeleteI hope you meet all your goals!
My Goals
Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteYeah, I thought the Bout of Books would give me a good kick in the pants towards getting my reading challenges off to a good start. Hope it does the same for you!
ReplyDeleteI hope it gives me the same boost towards my challenges. The books I'm reading right now are more so books I want to read than challenge books.
DeleteI read Zel a little while ago and thought it was pretty good. The Fairest of them All looks like a good book. I hope you enjoy it! Good luck with all of your book goals =)
ReplyDeleteThank You. Zel was amazing. I can't wait to read The Fairest of them All. Pivot Point is pretty amazing right now also.
DeleteIt is so odd the date on this post! It says Monday Jan 13th. I had to look at the date because I though I'd lost my mind! I loved Incarnate! I am soooo ready for Infinite to come out. Counting the days!!
ReplyDeleteNo you are not crazy I set it to stay at the top of my blog until that date since I don't have luck with sticky posts. It took a while to get into Incarnate, but I love it now.
DeleteYou are doing great! I am glad you liked both books. I may have to try Zel, because I really like retellings. Good luck with the rest of the read-a-thon!
ReplyDeleteIf you have read Golden I can assure you that you will love Zel.
