10 Year in 10 Books: Dewey's Readathon 10th Anniversary

In honor of Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon's 10th anniversary they are hosting a special challenge featuring books released in every year that Dewey's readathon has happened. It is hard to believe this event is already 10 years old. They have hosted 20 readathons. This is my 10th readathon, so I have participated in half of them. I have not missed a readathon since I discovered this event. For my 10 books I chose books that were my favorites, books that I raved about on my blog, and books that I still remember enjoying even though it has been years since I read them.

2007- Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult
2008- Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah
2009- Princess of the Midnight Ball by Jessica Day George
2010- Amy and Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson
2011- Breadcrumbs by Anne Ursu
2012- Cinder by Marissa Meyer
2013- Rapunzel Untangled by Cindy C. Bennett
2014- To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han
2015-The War that Saved my Life by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley
2016-My Lady Jane by Cynthia Hand, Brody Ashton, and Jodi Meadows
2017- The Names they Gave Us by Emery Lord

I 100% recommend all these books. They are all books I have chosen as favorites. I did notice it got harder to pick 1 favorite from the release year once I got past 2010. I have read so many 2013 releases that it was hard to pick a favorite for sure. That year has been my favorite year in books for sure.

So far this Dewey's readathon is off to a slow start. I read some this morning before we went shopping. I'm working on finishing The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding, so I can start Just One Year before the readathon is over. I'm going to try to stay up late tonight to get a lot of reading in.

Dewey's Readathon October 2017 Starting Line

1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today? South Dakota
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to? Just One Year, Forever and Always, Lara Jean
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to? don't know (didn't plan snacks this time around)
4) Tell us a little something about yourself! My name is Rachael. I have been blogging for four years now. This will be my 10th readathon. I can't believe how long I have been participating in this readathon, but I think it is such a great time to read with people around the world.  I'm a first year special education teacher just trying to figure out things.
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
This is a normal Saturday. We are going grocery shopping, but I'm hopping I have lots of time to read.
This is a scheduled post, but here is my plan for Saturday:
I'm planning on waking up around 7:00 to 8:00 am and reading in bed for an hour. Then I will eat breakfast and get ready to go grocery shopping. When we get home then I will spend the rest of the day laying around and reading. I'm planning on starting the day reading Just One Year by Gayle Forman and moving on to Forever and Always, Lara Jean if I have time.

September Monthly Wrap Up

My reading has slowed down a lot since school started. I miss those summer days where I had more time to read, but I'm really enjoying my job as special education teacher and I'm doing a good job managing stress and asking for help when I need help.

Because You Love to Hate Me did not live up to my expectations, but I did enjoy a few stories in the anthology. I really enjoyed Sneaky Snow White and The Twelve Dancing Princesses.

This upcoming weekend I have Dewey's 10th Year of Readathon. I'm so excited to join in on this fun readathon again. It is almost wrap up season and if you have been around my blog long enough you would know that I love wrap ups and goal posts, so look forward to lots of wrap ups come December and January. I am doing pretty well on my year long challenges. I'm trying to finish Monthly Keyword, but I don't think I'm going to make it on my Homework Challenge. I will carry over some of those books into next year.
