  3. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next season? I know you guys have worked hard on cheerleading and you just don't get the results you want, but I would love to see official cheerleaders come back and not just to twitter, but for the blogs too.
  4. What do you think worked really well in this year’s Read-a-thon? the hourly updates and the mini challenges were great.
  5. How many books did you read? 0

  8. Which did you enjoy least? -
  9. How likely are you to participate in the Read-a-thon again? What role would you be likely to take next time? I will be back in April to participate as a reader again.
I like to include my stats over all the readathons in the finish line. I'm always trying to figure out a way to beat myself. I participated in my first dewey's readathon as a senior in high school and now I'm a senior in college. I don't like to compare myself to other readers, but I do like to compare my stats over each readatho and beat my own statistics. Although I don't think it is ever going to be possible to beat April 2014

I read Clockwork Angel during the last readathon which is while I chose to read the 2nd book in the series. This book is so far much more complicated and requires a lot more close reading. As I mentioned earlier I have been more distracted this time around, but overall I'm happy with my progress. I'm going to go read in bed and try to get to pg 200 before I go to sleep. I am really getting into this book, which I'm happy about.

Dewey's Readathon October 2016 Hour 12 Update

1:03 to 1:40 pg 33 to pg 54
4:13 to 4:44 pg 54 to pg 71
4:53 to 5:53 pg 71 to pg 98

Time Read: 2 hours 8 minutes
Pages Read: 65
Total Time Read: 2 hours 53 minutes
Total Pages Read: 98

I spent about 3 hours doing schoolwork this morning and then I spent about 30 minutes reading before we went to a play called Almost Maine at my old high school. After we saw the play and I came home and had some more reading time. I will say that this readathon will have less time than most readathons, but I hope I can make it to around pg 200 before I call it a day.

1. What are you reading right now? Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare
2. How many books have you read so far? only part of this one.
3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon? still probably will be reading Clockwork Prince
4. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those? We went to the school play and I had to do homework otherwise the day has been really relaxing.
5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far? I'm having a hard time staying focused this time around and getting very distracted by social media, but I hope to have some relaxing after supper reading.

Dewey's Readathon October 2016 Starting Line and Hour 4 Update

1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today? South Dakota
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to? Clockwork Prince
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to? don't know (didn't plan snacks this time around)
4) Tell us a little something about yourself! My name is Rachael. I have been blogging for four years now. This will be my 8th readathon. I'm now a senior in college and student teaching this year. I just finished up my kindergarten placement and will be moving to my 5th grade placement on Monday.
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
This readathon is different in the fact that I now live at home and have many more interruptions than I did when I lived at college.

Hour 4 Update
This readathon started off much differently than many of the other readathons in the fact that I didn't wake up until 9:00. I usually don't have a problem getting up at starting time on readathon days, but I'm a teacher now and weekends are the only time I don't have to get up early, so I let myself sleep in. I was planning on reading in bed this morning, but decided to skip that and just go straight to reading in the bathtub. I started Clockwork Prince. I wanted to start a new book today because I always find it interesting how much I can read in a day. I don't plan to finish it, but I plan to make a lot of progress.

9:10 to 9:55 pg 0 to pg 33

Pages Read: 33
Time Read: 45 minutes

My current book and my snack of donut holes.

Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon October 2016 Sign Up

I decided to join Dewey's readathon again. Dewey is a lot different for me this year. In the previous years I have been in college and I literally just don't make plans and I just read the entire day. Now I'm living at home, I'm student teaching. On saturday we go grocery shopping and that takes the majority of our day. I'm planning to start the readathon in the morning take a break to go shopping and then when I get home start up the readathon again. I do not expect to get the statistics I have in the past just because I won't have as much time as I usually do. I'm planning on reading Small Great Things this Saturday. If I finish that I will move on to Clockwork Prince.
