Reading Challenges 2014

Updates will be posted in my challenge tab above. I signed up for 25 challenges in 2013 and completed 20. This year I'm signing up for 19 year long challenges and who knows how many seasonal challenges. Wish me luck.

Hosted by Bookmark to Blog. Here for the Words.
I think I have a lot more ideas for this years challenge
so hopefully it will be a bit easier to complete. This one took me the whole year to complete right up to the last hour. I hope not to do that this year. If you are participating in this challenge and need ideas for the months I have all my ideas written in my challenge tab above.

This will be my 2nd year participating in this challenge. Last year I read 25 new authors and I'm excited to continue to read new authors. I'm going to set my goal to read 25 new authors. Hosted by Literary Escapism

As you all know I love my local library and I get almost every book I read from the library. I'm signing up for adult 36 books.  Hosted by Book Dragon's Lair

Hosted by Socrates Book Reviews. I started many series in 2013 and I would like to set a goal to finish the series in 2014.
Series I would like to finish are The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare, Divergent Trilogy by Veronica Roth, and The Cedar Cove Series by Debbie Macomber. I'm going to set my goal to finish 2 series.

Hosted by Read, Sleep Repeat. I want to lower down on the number of series I'm in the middle of. I will add more series as I start them. Books I have read previously to this challenge have been crossed off. I will change the ones I read this year to a different font color before crossing them off.

This one gives point per each book finished in the series. (1 point for prequel or sequel novella, 2 points for each full length sequel, 10 bonus points for completing the series. I'm going to shoot towards Newbie 10-25 points

Hosted by Somewhere Only We Know. I'm going to shoot for First Level: 1-5 series enders. I hope to read Isla and the Happily Ever After, City of Heavenly Fire, and Allegiant

2014 Nicholas Sparks Reading Challenge
Hosted by The Book Vixen. I'm going to put my goal at First Date 1 to 4. My goal is going to be to read True Believer and At First Sight.

Hosted by Coffee Bean Bookshelf This challenge is all about slowing down and reading those books I have wanted to read for a long time. The book that pops to my mind right away is Fly Away Home by Jennifer Weiner. Some other books are Princess at the Midnight Ball by Jessica Day George and Home Front by Kristin Hannah. I will challenge myself to read books that I want to read in 2014 and not just books to satisfy challenges. I'm going to set my goal at 4 novels that have been published before 2014 that I have been putting off for a long time. I think any of Jodi Picoult or Nicholas Spark's books could be thrown in with the ones above.

Hosted by Ready When You Are C.B. This challenge is literally a challenge for me. The goal is to only read books off my to be read pile until April 1st, 2014. That means I can read any book on my Goodreads to be read pile which consists of 210 books at this point in time. The list often goes up and down so I have made an excel spreadsheet to make sure I don't cheat and read the books on my TBR list.

Hosted by Books and Iced Coffee. I'm not going to set a goal. I just wanted to join this challenge to keep track of how many Young Adult books I read.

Hosted by Debz Bookshelf. I'm going to set my goal at Lady in Waiting 7-9 fairy tale books.

Hosted by The Nighttime Novelist. My goal will be Not So Easy: 6-12 fairy tale books.

Hosted by caffeinatedlife. I'm signing up for Ocassional Re-reader 1 to 4 books. I would like to reread Firefly Lane and Fly Away by Kristin Hannah. I also would like to reread The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak.

Hosted by Rachael Turns Pages. My own challenge that I might be the only one to participate. I created this challenge to motivate me to read more Kristin Hannah books because I really have fallen in love with her as an author.  My goal is going to be Evening Stroll 3 to 4 novels.

Hosted by Jessie's Book Place. I'm going to be signing up for Paperclips:15 books. I read 30 quick fix books last year so I hope to be able to easily surpass this goal.  This challenge cover books under 300 pages.

Hosted by Rachael Turns Pages. The In The Middle Challenge returns for its second year covering books that are between 300 to 450 pages. I'm signing up for Never Stop Reading: 20 Books.

Hosted by Chunkster Challenge. I acomplished quite a few Chunkster's last year. I signed up for 6 and read 15. Chunksters are defined as book over 450 pages. I'm going to set my goal at 10 for this year and see how I do.

I am joining Anne and Kristilyn's Book Bingo Reading Challenge. Although I love their new updated card I don't think I would be able to complete it and I think it would end up adding more books to my list than it would take away so I took the basic premise of their card and made my own. I'm still going to read the same number of books as everybody else just I think this card more fits what I think I need to read this year.
Hosted by Blog of Erised I'm going to sign up for Rebel 7 to 12 books. I already have three planned for January, so I'm thinking this will be a pretty easy goal to complete. If I don't read that many it doesn't matter. I'm joining for the fun of the challenge.
Hosted by ReadingChallengeAddict. I clearly still need this one because I still joined way too many challenges. I'm going to shoot to finish 18 of these above challenges. Rereading might not go well. That puts me as Out of This World 16+ challenges.
