Winter Wishes Read-a-thon Wrap Up

I certainly wanted to get more reading done during this readathon, but I had a very busy weekend and wasn't very productive in this area. I watched our girls basketball time win on Saturday to a very easy team. It is actually kind of sad that this team is division I material. My friend and I got up on Saturday Morning and went to the gym. I was going for an easy workout, but then once I started running I decided I was going to run three miles. It was the first time in this running journey that I have started again that I truly believed I would be ready for the 5K race I'm going to run in May. It was also the first time that I thought to myself it might be possible to someday run at 10K. I will have posts up about this big events as the summer goes on. I'm even hoping to do one of the races with my sister. Then we went swimming on Sunday, which was a fun way to pass time.

I tried to squeeze in some reading over the weekend, but wasn't entirely successful. I know I would have read more if I went home for the weekend. Next weekend just happens to be superbowl weekend so I will be traveling home and getting a lot done over the weekend.

I read a total of 133 pages in 3 hours 2 minutes in 3 days. I read about an average of an hour per day. I read about 44 pages per day.

Asunder by Jodi Meadows

    1. I have to intern library loan the books so that means I won't be able to read Infinite until July or August. It is going to be a long wait after I finish Asunder. I'm loving it so far.

  2. Good job on your progress! :) The cover for Asunder looks so pretty! :D

Oh wow, someone else training for a 5k? I'm doing that too! :D I just kind of started, but I'm already pleased with my running journey. :) I definitely believe that you can do a 10k once you've gotten trained to a 5k, but it will take more training. Do you have any training programmes that you use?

    1. Asunder's cover is lovely and it is such an amazing novel.

I do not use any special training program. I did my research on running when I first started my journey in 2011. I used interval training. I decide my own intervals. I usually walk for a couple minutes followed by running for 7 to 8 minutes. I am working my way to being able to run for 20 minutes straight. I'm excited to share my passion for running with my sister as we run this summer. Our goal for 2014 is to lead a more fit and healthy lifestyle. I'm going to share some of that journey here on the blog because there are so many benefits to feeling good about yourself.
