2013 Reading Challenges

I know I have already posted today, but I scrolled through all the reading challenges and decided to join a few.

This will help me with my new years resolution. sign up at http://www.escapewithdollycas.com/challenges-2/2013-a-z-challenge/

I'm going to go for the 36 books since most all of the books I read are from the library, but I do plan on reading some I own this year.

Cool Challenge to enter how many pages you read and I'm going to go for the Mansion since I read over 14,000 pages last year. You can sign up at http://avantisplace.blogspot.com/2012/11/let-me-count-ways-reading-challenge.html

I love Nicholas Sparks and read several of his novels each year so this challenge is perfect. You can sign up at http://www.thebookvixen.com/2012/11/2013-nicholas-sparks-reading-challenge.html. I signed up for First Date which requires you to read 1-4 books.

I read 45 books in 2012 and I'm looking to read 50 in 2013 so I'm excited about this challenge. You can sign up at http://www.thebookvixen.com/2012/11/2013-outdo-yourself-reading-challenge.html

. I occasionally do readathons on goodreads. This one looks fun to knock some books off my list. You can sign up at http://novelchallenges.blogspot.com/2012/12/a-winters-respite-read-thon.html
This one sounds super fun since I like to read memior's occasionally. You can sign up at http://yearlongmemoir.blogspot.com/2012/12/the-challenge-specifics.html. I'm going to say that I want to read at least 4 memoirs in 2013.
This one is if you want to read bigger novels. I'm currently reading The Caster Chronicles so I think this would be a great challenge for me. You can sign up at http://chunksterchallenge.blogspot.com/2012/12/chunkster-challenge-2013-sign-ups.html. I'm going to sign up to be Plump Primer which requires that you read 6 books.

I have gone a little crazy with reading challenges, but here is another one I want to join. I'm going to sign up for. You can sign up at http://paranormalbookreviews-kelly.blogspot.ca/2012/12/2013-reading-challenge-seriously-series.html. I'm going to be signing up for Series Started in 2013 Semi Serious 1-6. If you read my reading resolutions post then you would know I have four series I want to read in 2013 so this challenge is perfect.
My own Challenge you can sign up at http://rachaelc94.blogspot.com/2013/01/jodi-picoult-reading-challenge.html. I'm signing up for Ruling This Courtroom which requires you to read 5 to 8 books. I read 6 last year and I have 10 Jodi Picoult books left so this should be easily accomplished.
This challenge is for short books under 300 pages. Sometimes you just need that one short book to keep you reading. I read most of my short books towards the end of 2012. We will see what I do this year. You can sign up at http://xjessiexbellex.blogspot.com/2012/12/quick-fix-challenge-sign-up.html?showComment=1359160056629#c680342570030990323. I'm signing up for Paperclips which requires you to read 10 books.
Pick an Author challenge. You can sign up at http://ofsparrowsandbutterflies.blogspot.com/2012/12/pick-author-book-challenge-2013.html. I will be picking Kristin Hannah. The first book I read by her was Night Road. The next book I will be reading is Home Front. The next author I will be choosing is Sarah Dessen. The first book I read by her was Someone Like You. The next book I will be reading is This Lullaby. The next author I will be choosing is Susane Colasanti. The first book I read by her was Keep Holding On. The next book I will be reading is Something Like Fate. The goal is to read 3 to 5 books over the year by the authors you have choosen. I read Kristin Hannah during 2011 and I have been wanting to come back to her and now this is my chance.
You can sign up at http://debzbookshelf.blogspot.com/2012/12/2013-fairy-tales-retold-reading.html. I'm going to sign up for Cobbler 1 to 3 books.
You can sign up and print out the board at http://readinginwinter.com/2012/12/08/challenge-anne-kristilyns-2013-book-bingo-reading-challenge/. I probably won't complete the reread. This is a harder one to update on, but I will have a spot for it in my pages.
My own reading challenge you can sign up at http://rachaelc94.blogspot.com/2013/01/the-in-middle-reading-challenge.html. I'm signing up for Never Stop Reading which is to read 15+ in the middle novels. Novels must be between 300 to 400 pages.
You can sign up at http://www.bookstacksondeck.com/2012/12/2013-books-in-series-reading-challenge.html. This is basically the same as the serious series challenge, but instead of counting a series a whole it counts books.  I am going with the bottom level since I want to finish all four series which is called The Obsessive which requires you to read 16-20 books
12 more books. This challenge has a key word every month for you to read so I'm interested to see how well I do at this challenge. I think October is going to be the hardest for me. You can sign up at http://bookmarktoblog.blogspot.com/2012/11/monthly-key-word-reading-challenge.html
So excited to discover this challenge. I always love to discover new authors. I will sign up for the lowest level to discover 15 new authors in 2013. You can sign up at http://www.literaryescapism.com/new-author-challenge/new-author-challenge-2013/comment-page-1#comment-139308
Nonfiction Challenge hosted at The Introverted Reader
Of Course I'm still entering challenges I clearly have a problem. Anyways you can sign up at http://www.theintrovertedreader.com/2012/12/2013-nonfiction-reading-challenge.html. I'm going for Dilettante 1-5 nonfiction books.

You can sign up at http://anarmchairbythesea.blogspot.co.uk/2012/12/announcing-telling-tales-challenge-2013.html. For now I'm going to go with Pixie which is to read 2 books.
The goal is to read new to you authors you can sign up at http://b00kr3vi3ws.blogspot.in/2012/12/2013-reading-challenge-first-reads.html. I'm going for Lover: 11-20 new authors since I have already signed up for 15 with the other challenge.

Since I obviously have a problem with reading challenges at this point I'm also going to join the reading challenge addict challenge for 2013. I'm going to challenge myself to complete the 15 above challenges so I'm signing up for In Flight: 11 to 15 challenges entered and completed.

Here is all the reading challenges I have joined so far for 2013. I'm look forward to a great year of reading. I will update at the end of each month to tell you all how I'm keeping up with all these reading challenges with a big wrap up at the end of the year.

Thanks for Reading

Rachael
