Book to Movie Reading Challenge Wrap Up

Completed as of June 15th, 2013
1. The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
This one was a reread for me, but I thoughly enjoyed rereading the book and sitting down to watch the movie with new eyes. This is still one of my favorite books and favorite movies.
2. Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl
Once I got over the hype of Beautiful Creatures I realized this book wasn't as good as I thought it was. The movie was a huge disappointment and didn't follow the book very well.
3. Nights in Rodanthe by Nicholas Sparks
An extremely emotional book and movie. I loved them both and became extremely attached to the characters.
4. Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie
The children's classic was a delightful book especially the fun narrator. As always I love the Disney movie.
5. The Host by Stephenie Meyer
This was my biggest book of this year. I was never going to read this book, but when I heard it was being made into a movie I couldn't resist. I finished it a few days before we went to see the movie. The movie was great and followed the book very well. I love the actors they chose.
6. The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick
Who doesn't love Jennifer Lawerence as an actress? I couldn't resist this movie and book combo. Bradely Cooper and Jennifer Lawerence made a great book and movie cover. It was one of the more creative movie covers. I thought the book and movie were both a bit strange, but still really good.
7. City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
City of Bones was an amazing book. I read it in five days and couldn't wait for the movie to come out in August. The movie didn't disappoint. They had a cast that played every character in the book great and I fell in love with the movie.
Although I didn't enjoy this book I enjoy the many retellings of Robin Hood.
9. Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult
Another great book by Jodi Picoult and what made it even better was reading it with a friend and discussing every aspect of the book. The movie is a lifetime movie and they did a great job capturing the book.
10. Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion
I was spetical about this book since I often don't like horror book, but this book was more of a love story than a zombie story. It was complex in so many ways. The movie was a bit more gruesome, but still had the right amount of love story and the actors did quite an amazing job.

There were so many great book to movies that came out this year. I can't wait to see what next year brings.

Thanks for reading
