2014 Book of the Year Bracket Challenge: Bracket Revealed

January 6th : Initial eliminations. All rounds of eliminations needed to get the number of contestants reduced to 32.
January 8th Elimination to find the Sweet Sixteen.
January 10th : Reducing challengers to eight books - the Elite Eight.
January 13th Quarterfinals. Determine your Final Four.
January 15th : Semi-Finals. Only two may enter the final arena.
January 17th : Finals...the Champion will be determined. Announce your Book of the Year!

Are you guys ready. I literally am so excited to figure out what my book of the year is. I mostly did 4 and 5 star books on the bracket, but I had to throw in a few three star books to complete all 64 slots. I didn't count any really short ebooks I read because I just don't think there was enough there to even have a chance at the book of the year.

I think I know which book is going to win, but in the meantime it is going to be a hard decision. If you want to join in! Now is your last chance. Here's my starting bracket.

  1. I'm digging for someone who can tell me how a book wins as I SO want to do this! Is it based on the rating you gave it?

    1. I rate a lot of books five stars so I picked the book that I liked best. I lowered it down that way. It began really hard when I had to choose between two books that I loved, but overall I think the book that deserved to win did. I totally recommend doing this. Elle at Erratic Project Junkie gives you a blank bracket and I used my 2014 reads and a site called Pixlr to fill the brackets in.

    2. Berls...the best thing about this is that you kind of do things however you like. The way I do mine is to randomly generate the bracket with the books I read. Other people enter them in the order they read them or go back and forth between the two sides. After that, you pit the books against one another. I default to the higher ranking books, but you don't necessarily have to. So, if you were to have a 3-star vs. a 4-star, you could let the 4-star automatically take that section of the bracket, or you could go with your gut if you think the 3-star should win for you. It's all subjective. Feel free to come join us!!
