February Wrap Up and March TBR (To Be Read) 2013

February Wrap Up
Another month of 2013 has come to a close. February has been an amazing month for reading. I have read a total of eight books in February. I found myself just always wanting to reading and staying up late many nights to continue reading. February was also a record breaking month for me for borrowing books from friends. I borrowed a total of three books in February.

1. I wanted to read another Jodi Picoult book before her new novel The Storyteller came out. Review

Challenges this fit into: Library, Let Me Count the Ways, Outdo Yourself, Jodi Picoult, Book Bingo, and In the Middle Challenge

2.
The only book in February I didn't do a review for. I just didn't have a whole lot to say. I really liked the characters of  Erin and Lani. I related to them both in different ways. The character of Jason was really good looking in my mind, but he also had a great sense of humor although he was cheating on Lani. From the beginning the author made sure that we saw there was no connect between Lani and Jason so we would cheer for Erin and Jason. I don't think I really ended up doing that, but I did like them as a couple. This book was pretty good nothing exquisite, but it was worth reading.

Challenges this fit into: A to Z, Library, Let Me Count the Ways, Outdo Yourself, Quick Fix, Pick an Author, and Book Bingo
3.
This was the first book I borrowed from a friend this month. I read this in three days and I was really moved by the novel. I also watched the movie and thought it portrayed the novel very well.  Review

Challenges this fit into: A to Z, Let Me Count the Ways, Nicholas Sparks, Outdo Yourself,  Quick Fix, Book Bingo, and Monthly Keyword

4.
I don't know if you remember my post about nonfiction books and the two nonfiction books I plan to read before May. Well this was one of the books. I chose this book because we had to read a nonfiction book for a class I'm taking called independent reading. I really enjoyed learning about the author behind the novels. Review.

Challenges this fit into: Library, Let Me Count the Ways, Nicholas Sparks, Outdo Yourself, Year-Long Memoir, Book Bingo, In the Middle, Monthly Keyword, and Nonfiction.

5.
Then I couldn't resist continuing the Beautiful Creatures Series (The Caster Chronicles). I had few complaints about this book. I was totally obsessed with it. I read it in a period of six days and it is 503 pages. I literally finished it minutes before we went to school on Tuesday.
Review

6.
After hearing people go on and on about John Green's latest novel. I had to give it a try for myself. I ended up really loving Hazel and Augustus story. The ending was sad like everybody has said, but it wasn't the ending I expected so I'm thankful for that. Review.

Challenges this fit into: A to Z, Library, Let Me Count the Ways, Outdo Yourself, Book Bingo, In the Middle, and Monthly Keywords.

7.
I have to admit this was a hard review to write without spoiling the story. I fell in love with the characters of this novel and their life. I also did a spoiler included character follow along. I plan to do one for each cedar cove novel. Review.

Challenges this fit into: A to Z, Library, Let Me Count the Ways, Outdo Yourself, Seriously Series, Book Bingo, In the Middle, Books-In-A-Series, and Monthly Keywords.

8.
Doomed was the final book I completed during the month of February. I really enjoyed the world in this book and I would recommend this book to everybody. It was amazing. Review.

March TBR
If you read my post about keeping a balance with reading. There isn't one. There will always be more books out there than you have time to read. February was project fairy tale and the project fairy tale host is hosting a Read-A-Thon in March so I'm planning to read a couple fairy tale retellings in March. I finished every book I put on my TBR for last month so I plan to do the same this month.

I created the photo in Photobucket. I think it may work better than putting the books individually and having them splay all over the place. These are the five books I want to read in March at this point in time. The books are Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi, Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson, Splintered by A.G. Howard, Cinder and Scarlett by Marissa Meyer, and The Host by Stephanie Meyer. The Host is a huge book so I'm going to be giving myself about 2 weeks to read that book. If I get done with all these I have a lot of books to choose from so you will have to wait and see all the books I read in March.

Update on my life: Unfortunately March is not starting off as a good month for me and my family. Today is my Dad's Birthday and my mom quit her job today. If I wasn't already stressed out enough about how I was going to pay for college I'm definetly more stressed now. My senior year has definetly been an interesting year for my family. Plus we just bought a new car so we have many bills that we need to keep up with. Please hope for my mom to find a new job soon.

Thanks for reading

Rachael

  1. Nice list, I'm interested in Doomed & Beautiful Darkness. I bought BD a long time ago and haven't gotten around to reading it yet. Your March list looks great. I loved Cinder and can't wait to read Scarlet. I also bought Splintered and plan to read that in April. I'm not interested in the rest of them.

    1. Well there will be reviews up for probably all of the books. I hope I enjoy them. Tiger Lily is the one I'm most excited to read. I will probably be reading The Host first. It was a very good month for me when it comes to reading.
